На наших глазах разворачивается баталия между Жириновским и Кадыровым. Казалось бы чего проще ответить возмущенным гражданам: мы не против того, чтобы национальной республикой (Чечней) управлял (через выборы или назначение собранием) гражданин любой национальности не только чеченец и не только принадлежащий к опредленному клану (тейпу).
И...?

OK. May be here not 100% are north korean neonatistic spies. But only 99%. Then, for this 1%:
- Russian Imperia always was MONONATIONAL country. Not less then 2/3: Russian+Ukrainian+Belorussian. In USSR time too.
So: no experience in REAL multinational coexistence. Opposite to British Imperia (where I am now (sorry my specific English), and believe me it is very visible, this difference).
After invention of contraception, processes in post-Brithis Imperia and in post-Russian Imperia are partially similar, partially different:
1. The same. In both cased absolete majority follow their deepest dream: to be child-free. Look at Pat Buchanan' book "Death of the West". He mean direct biological death.
2. The opposite. Post-British Imperia will continue to exist formally, after changing population on semikenians and other. Post-Russian Imperia will be destroyed, and already significantly destroyed.
What's finally:
1. The future is better for post-British official structures, then for post-Russian.
2. But. For populations: it can be opposite. Depends of post-Russian peoples private choice. That is a key question: their private choice. If they agree to survive in a DEEP POVERTY, at least half century. It may be no other real options. Central RF structures? They will not help to survive biologically, being involved in other processes.
